After checking the configuration of your site, I believe it is happening due to conflict with some sort of plugin. I checked on local, development and production server with custom post type and everything works as expected.
Please do a compatibility test.
- Please deactivate all your plugins except our plugin.
- Check to see if the problem is gone.
- If the problem is gone then please activate your plugins one by one to identify the culprit.
- Otherwise, please switch to a default theme and see the problem is still there.
